Lünen, December 16th, 2009 – With the turn of the year, KEF will establish the new retail price of the ´Muon´ sound sculptures. The recommended retail price will increase to 160,000 Euro per pair.
The recommended retail price of the KEF Muon sound sculptures will increase to 160,000 Euro per pair throughout the whole of Europe on January 1st 2010. The price adjustment is necessary due to the extremely high prices of raw materials and the increase in labour costs. Each KEF Muon is manufactured through a valuable process, one that entails a lot of manual work and which cannot be automated. The consumption of material for each of these loud-speakers, which is over two metres high and weighs more than 115 kilograms, is obviously very high.
KEF received the "Cool Brands 2009/2010" award in London in October 2009. Reasons for this award include the development of loudspeaker concepts such as the Muon.

Over recent months, KEF's flagship Reference Series has received rave reviews in some of the industry's most respected titles. Home Cinema Choice recently reviewed an outstanding 7.2 KEF Reference system.
‘The very best that one of the most revered British speaker makers can do after decades of development….Awesome performance with incredibly rich textures and mind-bending potency and weight.'
KEF 7.2 Reference System, Home Cinema Choice, March 2009
KEF's Reference Series Model 205/2 was also put in the spotlight in the latest issue of high-end UK audio journal, Hi-Fi+. The model receives a highly positive review and a detailed technical evaluation.
‘Just like the 207s, the glory of the 205 is in the continuity and unexaggerated coherence it brings to reproducing music…. It's not just shared DNA we're talking about. So much of the technology, so many of the parts in this speaker are shared with the 207, that realizing the benefits comes down to the engineering implementation (and a bit of care).´
Reference 205/2, Hi-Fi +, March 2009
The January issue of consumer technology magazine, T3 also featured the publication's top four high-end speakers and names KEF's Reference 203/2s as ‘Best for Accuracy'. Rated ‘the most accurate performer' and the ‘most tweakable' speakers in the group, the 203/2s were also the most affordable in the group test!
With KEF's flagship Reference Series considered by many as the benchmark for high-end loudspeakers the range continues to receive glowing praise and top quality reviews from all quarters! |
